2012 Grease
After such a successful summer in 2011, Ravara Productions wanted to keep the momento going and keep giving back to the community. We took a musical, Grease, which has older themes, harder music and tougher dances but luckily with such a skilled production team and such a talented cast of 50 young people aged 6-20, the end product was unbelievable. It was hard to believe such a production came from an amateur group with the production team all being around the age of 18.
Andrews Memorial Hall in Comber was the venue for Ravara’s biggest production yet and seated over 200 people. This seemed like a lot at the start but tickets sold very fast and by the time the show came around, we even had sold out nights! With a total audience of around 850 people, the standing ovations at the end of each show displayed the appreciation the audience gave Ravara as a group and let all involved relax and soak it up. This production would not have been possible without the funding of £600 from Disney's Youth Service of America Grants scheme and Ravara Productions is so grateful for this. We are now looking forward to moving on with more projects and continuing to raise money for local charities with our fundraising for our future productions. Ravara Productions is continuing to improve and move on up! |
